A good visual data analysis software is built on two principles. Firstly, it must provide unmatched interactivity with the data in the easiest way. Secondly, it must provide an interface which presents your data in a crystal-clear manner. Insight A2 combines these two principles in a synergy so strong that you will never want to go back to the old way of analyzing your data.

Unmatched Interactivity

The shortest way to get real value out of your data is to analyze it with the proper tool. Understanding data means that you can formulate questions on the fly, get the answers to these questions on the fly, and then iterate this process until you discover not just the high level information, but all the nitty-gritty details.

Formulating a question with Insight A2 is done by simple drag-and-drop. You select as many database fields as you want to analyze, and drop them onto Insight A2's visualization sheet. You do not need to select which type of chart is the best to represent your data as Insight A2 will always display your data in the most appropriate way. You can then sort, rearrange, filter, slice and dice your data without limits. As creating new analyses is so simple, you will want to open Insight A2 whenever a new question arises.

Understanding Data with Small Multiples

One of the techniques Insight A2 employs is called Small Multiples. It is a visualization method that renders data as a series of diagrams each showing a subset of a larger dataset.

The small multiples technique coupled with a pivoting function results in a table consisting of a number of small diagrams arranged in a hierarchy, both horizontally and vertically. Laying out information this way lets you visually compare the different categories all at once. The apparent differences between the small diagrams reveal in what exactly the selected categories differ from each other.

On the left there is a traditional scatter plot displaying some data. As we displayed all data in one single diagram, the result is a completely homogeneous scatter plot, which is useless, as we cannot make any significant information out of it.

On the right however, we broke down the same data by three categories (rows, columns and colors) using the Small Multiples method supported by Insight A2. The small diagrams clearly reflect the differences between the given categories.

In Insight A2 it is possible to break down all traditional diagram types with the Small Multiples method including scatter plots, bar charts, line charts, gantt charts, text reports and heat maps. Additionally, the program is able to automatically select the diagram type that best matches your data to be displayed.

In Insight A2 you can analyze heterogeneous corporate databases through the same easy-to-use, uniform user interface. With the diagrams and tables that can be prepared in minutes you now have a chance to uncover what was hidden from you before in your data.
